Sarah Ablinger

Sara M. Ablinger has been self-employed with Big Body Love since 2016 and offers 1:1 bodywork and workshops on the topics of body positivity, radical self-care, consensus and communication, intimacy and sexuality in Austria and Europe. She creates spaces for empowerment and authenticity, sensuality and lust, often with a focus on marginalized bodies such as queer, fat and disabled.

Feminism is...

... a movement and an attitude that works to end structural discrimination and violence based on body, sex, gender identity, as well as other levels of discrimination such as race, ethnicity, class and education, and disability. Furthermore, indigenous knowledge of the cyclical qualities of everything that gives life (people who give birth, animals, plants, the earth) is, for me, deeply essential in these discourses.

My feminist role model is...

... e.g. Marsha P. Johnson and so many other fighters small and large.

My favourite book is...

...Sonia Renee Taylor. The Body Is Not an Apology: The Power of Radical Self-Love. / Glennon Doyle. Untamed. / Mithu Sanyal. Vulva: The Unveiling of the Invisible Sex / Franziska Schutzbach. The exhaustion of women. / Rudi Kaur. homebody

The best empowerment song is...

Beyonce Bigger.

Viva La Vulva, because...

she is powerful, wise and resilient.
